PUBLIC NOTICE

MODEL TRAFFIC CODE NOTICE OF HEARING

NOTICE is hereby given of a public hearing before the Board of Trustees of The Town of San Luis, Colorado, at 6:00 pm on the 4th day of August, 2020, per conference call, for the purpose of considering the adoption by reference of the "Model Traffic Code" 2020 edition, as the traffic ordinance of The Town of San Luis of Costilla, Colorado.
Copies of the Model Traffic Code are on file at the office of the Town Clerk and may be inspected during regular business hours. A PDF copy is also posted on the Town of San Luis website at www.townofsanluisco.org. If enacted as an ordinance of The Town of San Luis the Model Traffic Code will not be published in full, but in accordance with state law, copies will be kept on file.

The "Model Traffic Code" 2020 edition is published by the Colorado Department of Transportation, Traffic Engineering and Safety Branch, 2829 West Howard Place, Denver, CO 80204. The subject matter of the Model Traffic Code relates primarily to comprehensive traffic control regulations for the Town of San Luis The purpose of the Ordinance and the Code adopted therein is to provide a system of traffic regulations consistent with state law and generally conforming to similar regulations throughout the state and the nation.

At its next regular meeting following this hearing, the San Luis Board of Trustees will consider passage of the adopting Ordinance. This meeting will also be held by conference call.

Notice of Adoption of:

Town of San Luis Ordinance 2020-01, EMERGENCY CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) ORDINANCE, Town of San Luis Resolution 2020-03, AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION CONCERNING ELECTRONIC PARTICIPATION POLICY DURING SAN LUIS BOARD OF TRUSTEE MEETINGS and Town of San Luis COVID-19 Proclamation.

The Board of Trustee of San Luis, Colorado has adopted the above titled ordinance, resolution and proclamation effective March 19, 2020. The entire ordinance, resolution and proclamation are available for review on the town website, www.townofsanluisco.org. Currently, the San Luis Town Hall is closed to public and the documents can be reviewed on the town website only. For questions please call the Town Hall at (719) 672-3321.

San Luis Board of Trustee Vacancies

The Town of San Luis has two open positions on the Board of Trustees. The Board meets the 1st and 2nd Tuesdays of every month. There will be special meetings as well. You must be a San Luis resident for no less than 12 consecutive months, live within the town limits, be a registered voter, and be a minimum of 18 years of age.

The Board is looking for energetic folks who are ready to roll up their sleeves and desire to make a positive difference in our community. If selected as a Trustee, the position serves a two-year term until April 2022.

If interested please send a letter of intent listing your qualifications; vision for the Town of San Luis; and why you would like to become a Town Trustee to Town of San Luis, P.O. Box 200, San Luis, CO 81423. You can also deliver it to the town hall located at 408 Main Street; or email your letter of intent to townclerk@townofsanluisco.org. Letters of Intent
must be received no later than 4:00 p.m. on April 3rd, 2020.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the TOWN OF SAN LUIS, Costilla County, Colorado, that at the close of business on the sixty-forth day before the election, there were not more candidates for Trustee than offices to be filled, including candidates filing affidavits of intent to be write-in candidates; therefore, the election to be held on April 7th, 2020 is hereby canceled pursuant to section 1-13.5-513(6) C.R.S.

Town Hall Meetings

Town Meetings are held the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 408 Main Street, San Luis. The public is invited and welcome to attend Town Hall meetings. If you have a subject matter to address with the town council please visit the San Luis Town Hall at 508 Main Street to be placed on the next meeting's agenda or call 672-3321.

The mission for the Town of San Luis is to promote the public health, safety, and welfare of the residents of the Town of San Luis and to protect, to enhance and to perpetuate building states/areas of the Town reminiscent of past eras, events, and to continue to provide examples of architectural styles of the past and facilitate the availability of incentives for property owners.
